Music Industry Calling

EBE worked with Leicester based music project HQ Can CiC to help deliver Music Industry Calling (#MIC). Funded by Youth Music, #MIC was designed to help young people from disadvantaged communities develop the skills and mind-set to help them get into the music business. EBE delivered business development workshops and undertook a longitudinal evaluation of the project.

Positive Communities

EBE is a founding member of the Positive Communities consortium, a grassroots partnership of community organisations and charities who deliver employability and training for those who are the furthest away from the labour market. Positive Communities One was funded by the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund, and EBE provided strategic and tactical support, and undertook a longitudinal evaluation of the £500k plus project.

Positive Communities Two will be been funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and will deliver enhanced levels of employability support to residents in Leicester’s inner city. Once again, EBE will undertake an impact assessment following a programmatic evaluation.

Leicester and Leicestershire ERDF Business Growth Hub

EBE was commissioned by Leicester City Council to undertake a Summative Assessment of the Leicester and Leicestershire Growth Hub, a £12M ERDF funded project to help businesses successfully navigate the business support landscape ensuring they find the information and assistance they need to develop and grow.

The Summative Assessment endeavoured to understand the impacts of ERDF investment and to draw out lessons learned from project delivery to help shape and inform forthcoming programmes. The assessment drew on data from the project CRM, from direct feedback from Managers involved in project delivery, and from SMEs supported via an online survey.

De Montfort University Civic University Agreement – Community Consultation

In 2019, DMU embarked on a widespread consultation exercise with its staff, students, partners, friends and local organisations and communities to identify the best ways that it could work together with organisations and individuals in Leicester and Leicestershire to create lasting benefits for everyone. EBE was commissioned by DMU to undertake a wide-ranging community consultation exercise that focused on discussions with senior leaders in the Leicester community. The outcomes report produced as a result of the project ultimately helped DMU to shape its input into the county wide Civic University Partnership which was agreed with the University of Leicester and Loughborough University in 2022.

The Heritage of Our Lives

Thanks to support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Leicester YMCA’s Kick the Dust programme, EBE delivered the Heritage of Our Lives (THOOL), a project which enabled a diverse group of 10 young people to document the heritage and history of their own lives in photographic, digital and written format.

With support from an experienced professional photographer and a heritage practitioner, participants created an exhibition of their work which was showcased in a city centre venue.
